“Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.” – Andy Stanley

I saw this quote this week on an Instagram page regarding missions. It really challenged me.

Today I want to write this blog to you. And only you. You, the one person reading this at this moment. So often I will write with a group of people in mind, not always, but sometimes. But this quote challenged me to think of you and only you. The “one”.

What do I want you to receive through this blog? What is my “point”? What do I want you to come away with after reading this? What do I want to “do for you”?

Jesus.

That’s the answer. That’s what I want you to see, experience, feel, know, understand. Jesus’ love for you. The importance of growing, drawing, being, nearer to Him. So that is what I want to do today, and every day, encourage and challenge you to grow closer to Him. That’s what I want to do for everyone, so that’s what I want to do with you.

Our walk with Jesus is our greatest adventure. Our sweetest adventure. Our most challenging adventure. Our most rewarding adventure. God loves us so much that He sent His One and Only Son to die for us.

He knew you before you were formed (Jeremiah 1:5), He has a plan and purpose for your life (Jeremiah 29:11), His ways are good and perfect (Psalm 18:30), we must follow His commands (John 14:15). Do you ever feel invisible, like you don’t have a purpose, don’t know your purpose, confused, concerned, in turmoil? Maybe not constantly but maybe these thoughts creep in every once in awhile or a few times a day. You have worth, friend. Jesus loves you.

Let me say that again, Jesus loves you.

Okay, one more time, Jesus. Loves. You. Choose to love Him back, follow His commands (John 14:15). The question above, “Do you ever feel ___”? Are things I’ve absolutely felt, even recently. How do we combat these thoughts? How do we know what’s true, what thoughts are true? I say it so often, I’ll say it again, and you know I’ll say it in the future. Get. In. Your. Word. The Bible is a tool that God gave us to know Him, know ourselves, know His plans, know His sacrifice, know His power, and so much more. It is our instruction book, our map, our guide. Yet so often we don’t make the time to read it. I encourage you, yes, you, to take some time today and get alone with Jesus to read the Word. Look up some of the verses I mentioned above, solidify your identity in Jesus, encourage yourself in the Lord. When these thoughts or questions I mentioned above come in, they are lies from the enemy. We need to know our Word, we need to have it hidden in our hearts (Psalm 119:11-12), so that it can light our paths (Psalm 119:105) and keep us from believing lies. When these thoughts come in, stop, close your eyes, and say “Jesus”. Let His love wash over you, remember that He loves you deeply, remember you have the Joy of the Lord (Nehemiah 8:10), remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Write these verses down, scatter them around your house, speak them every time you see them, get them in your heart and in your head. Remind the enemy who you are! Who lives in you (1 John 4:4)!

Walk in truth, friend.

Know who you are in Christ.

Grow, flourish, dig deeper.

Hah, it’s spring, the time for new beginnings, new flowers! Fresh growth! Why not purpose to do just that spiritually?! Grow, flourish, dig deeper!

I’m praying for you, friend.
